Cross Tab
Counts (or sums, averages…) one field against another: the Rows field's values go down the side, the Columns field's values go across the top.
When to use it
Use it for a quick matrix such as products by region or status by month. Reach for Pivot Table instead when you also want subtotals per outer group.

A combination with no rows is blank rather than 0, exactly as in Excel.
Worth knowing
- The columns across the top are the data's own values, so the editor only knows them after a Preview or a run — preview once before picking those columns further down the flow.
- Labels are sorted ascending and an empty value reads (blank).
- The table is refused, with a message, if rows × columns would pass the server's row limit; pick a Columns field with fewer distinct values or filter first.
