Settings
| Setting | Type | Required | Default or hint |
|---|---|---|---|
| Output Naming | select | — | bottom_source |
| Custom Naming Pattern | text | — | e.g. merged_{counter} |
Example
Stapling a cover letter to each invoice
- Output Naming=Use bottom source filename
| Input | File | Pages |
|---|---|---|
| Top | cover-letter.pdf | 1 |
| Bottom | invoice-1042.pdf | 3 |
| File | Pages | Page order |
|---|---|---|
| invoice-1042.pdf | 4 | cover-letter, then invoice-1042 |
Output Naming decides the file name only; the page order always follows the inputs, top first then bottom.
Worth knowing
- Only the first row of the Top input supplies a file, while every distinct PDF on the Bottom input produces its own merged output.
- Inside a Loop the bottom document is the current item and the top comes from outside the loop.
- Custom pattern naming supports {counter}, {source} and {source_top}.
- A single populated input produces a copy rather than an error.
