PDF Grayscale
Converts the selected pages of each incoming PDF to greyscale and writes a new file for the rows to carry on.
When to use it
Use it before printing or archiving, when colour adds nothing and a print-ready file is what you want.

Settings
| Setting | Type | Required | Default or hint |
|---|---|---|---|
| Compression | select | — | medium |
| Page Range | text | — | Leave empty for all pages, e.g. 1-5, 8, 10-12 |
Example
Greying the first four pages of each invoice
- Page Range=1-4
- Compression=Medium
| File | Pages | Colour |
|---|---|---|
| invoice-1042.pdf | 6 | colour |
| PDF Output Path | Grayscale Status | Pages Processed |
|---|---|---|
| invoice-1042_grayscale.pdf | Converted | 1-4 |
Pages outside the range are copied through untouched, so a mixed colour and greyscale file is a normal result.
Worth knowing
- Page Range accepts forms like 1-5, 8, 10-12, and an open-ended 7- means page 7 to the end.
- Conversion rewrites the page's colour operators and overlays a saturation layer, so images lose colour too while text stays selectable.
- The row gains PDF Output Path, so downstream PDF nodes pick up the new file automatically.
- A content stream the node cannot decode is kept as it is rather than failing the run.
