Settings
| Setting | Type | Required | Default or hint |
|---|---|---|---|
| Document Name | text | — | e.g. Offer_{Candidate_Name}. Empty: <template>_{row} |
| Missing Field Handling | select | Yes | blank |
| Default Value | text | — | Value to use when field is missing |
Example
One offer letter per candidate row
- Document Name=Offer_{Candidate_Name}
- Missing Field Handling=Use Default Value
- Default Value=TBC
| Candidate_Name | Start_Date | Bonus |
|---|---|---|
| Priya Nair | 2026-10-05 | — |
| Sam Lee | 2026-11-02 | 5% |
| Candidate_Name | Document File Name | Missing Fields |
|---|---|---|
| Priya Nair | Offer_Priya Nair.docx | Bonus |
| Sam Lee | Offer_Sam Lee.docx | — |
Priya's <<Bonus>> became TBC because her row has no value for it, and Missing Fields records that.
Worth knowing
- Template Input goes on the Template pin (left), the rows on the Data pin (right).
- Document Name takes {Column} for a row's value and {row} for its number; left empty it is <template>_{row}.
- Missing Field Handling: leave the tag blank, use the Default Value, or stop the run at the first row without a value.
- Only the text a tag occupies changes, so the rest of the paragraph keeps its formatting; line breaks in a value become line breaks in Word.
- A preview makes the first 10 documents; a run makes them all.
