Worth knowing
- Create the API secret in Admin › Data streams › your stream › Measurement Protocol API secrets; keep it in a $Variable rather than typing it into the node.
- Client ID must be GA's client_id for the visitor (from the _ga cookie); User ID is optional. At most 25 parameters go with each event.
- GA4 accepts the events without checking them: they appear in Realtime within minutes and in reports within a day. Previews send nothing.
