Worth knowing
- Should I remove words like “a” and “the”? It is optional. Shorter slugs are tidy, but keep enough words for the slug to describe the page.
- Hyphens or underscores? Hyphens. Search engines treat hyphens as word separators, while underscores can join words together.
- What happens to non-Latin characters? Characters that cannot be converted to plain letters, such as Chinese or Arabic script, are removed. For those languages, consider writing the slug by hand.
- Works on any text column, not only Text Input's: pick it under Text column. Tick Generate New Column to keep the original next to the result.
