Unstructured Text
Text Input
Brings unstructured text into a flow — typed or pasted straight into the node, or read from a text, Markdown, log, HTML, Word or PDF file on your computer, in My files, on the server or in Google Drive.
When to use it
Start here whenever the data is prose rather than a table: notes, emails, transcripts, scraped pages or reports that need cleaning before they go anywhere else.

Worth knowing
- Choose A file, then Browse: pick a file on your computer, one already in My files, or upload one to My files first and refer to it from then on.
- A path with * reads the newest matching file, and $Variables can fill any part of it — exactly as in File Input.
- Point it at a folder, or connect an Input Folder or a Loop, to read many files at once: each file becomes its own row, tagged with its name.
- Word (.docx) and PDF files give up their text; any other file is read as text, its encoding detected unless you choose one.
