Input
Word File Input
Reads an uploaded Word document and returns its text as one row per non-empty line.
When to use it
Use it when the content you need is prose rather than a table — minutes, letters, notes — and you want to search, split or reshape those lines into data.

Example
Turning meeting minutes into rows
- Uploaded Word File=minutes-2026-03.docx
| Document text |
|---|
| Attendees: R Shah, L Okafor |
| Action: renew the Harbour Foods contract |
| Action: send the Q1 invoices by 14 March |
| line_number | content |
|---|---|
| 1 | Attendees: R Shah, L Okafor |
| 2 | Action: renew the Harbour Foods contract |
| 3 | Action: send the Q1 invoices by 14 March |
Blank lines are dropped, so line_number counts lines of text rather than lines in the document.
Worth knowing
- Only .docx is read; a legacy .doc has to be saved as .docx first.
- The node gives you plain text, not the document's tables, so use Regex Replace or Split Column to pull fields out of each line.
- The __file_path column it adds is what Word to PDF reads, so the two nodes chain without any extra setup.
- Inside a Loop the upload is ignored and the current item's file is used.
