Data Quality
Null / Blank Audit
Measures the share of blank cells in each column and stops the run (or warns) when any column is blanker than the threshold. The rows pass through unchanged.
When to use it
Use it as a gate before a load or a report: a feed where Email suddenly arrives 30% empty should stop the flow, not quietly fill a dashboard with gaps.

Settings
| Setting | Type | Required | Default or hint |
|---|---|---|---|
| Columns to audit | select | — | None picked: every column is audited |
| Threshold (% blank allowed) | number | — | 1 |
| On breach | select | — | fail |
Example
No more than 1% blank
- Columns to audit=Customer, Email
- Threshold (% blank allowed)=1
| Customer | |
|---|---|
| Ann | ann@example.com |
| Bob | — |
| Cy | cy@example.com |
| Di | di@example.com |
The run stops with: "Email" is 25.0% blank (1 of 4 rows), above the 1% threshold.
Worth knowing
- With no columns picked, every column is audited. A picked column that is missing from the data counts as 100% blank.
- Cells holding only spaces count as blank.
- On breach: Warn notes each column over the threshold and lets the rows through; when all is well the note names the blankest column.
